Last night, she began her chemotherapy treatment. She was unable to get a PICC line because her platelets were so low. They were able to locate a donor, and her counts went up to 44,000 from a random donor!
Lisa and I brought all of the kids to Maui for spring break. We got a laptop for Nonnie and Papa, and have been able to "Skype" them. If you do not know what that means, it is a built-in camera that allows the users to see each other while they talk. This has been really helpful for all of us to stay connected.
They got moved to a new room today, which has an ocean view! When we talked to them today, Nonnie sounded positive and ready to battle! They would love to hear from their friends and family.

ReplyDeleteYou. David and the kids are in my constant thoughts each day. I know you have the strength to overcome this latest battle with all of your faith, love and support. Boy, you are getting pretty techy with this computer and Skyping! I am proud of you! :) How great that the kids and family still get to see you and David each day when they are in Maui. I hope they all have a fun trip and come back with lots of pictures to share.

Gawsh! It's Monday, April 5 already. Jeffy, Lisa and kids will be home on Thursday! I'm taking good care of Hurley and Gabby. I'm also thrilled to know that the Skype capability has been put to use for you Linda and Dave. When they get home, you'll be able to watch them practice piano! They're really advancing quite nicely. As discussed, I'll call to check if this Saturday will be a good day to come up to UCLA to visit. How awesome you have an ocean view.
