Increased Dose

Yesterday was a brutal day for Nonnie. She was awake all night with a fever, and it lasted throughout the entire day. At one point, her temperature was 104 degrees. Along with Tylenol, the nurses packed her in ice to reduce the temperature. This caused her to begin to shiver, and then warm blankets were placed on her because shivering is our bodies mechanism to get warmth.

This chemotherapy treatment is approximately 10 times the strength of the first round. Last round, it was on day 12 that she began to have a fever. She should be done in the next day or so with the current treatment, and her doctor spoke of giving an additional chemotherapy medication afterwards. She has completely lost her appetite, which causes her to become weak and tired.

None of us can fathom how hideous you must be feeling. I have spent hours on the web reading stories of AML survivors. It is so encouraging to hear how they went through "hell" in exchange for remission and living healthy lives for many YEARS! That will be your story too. Keep up the fight...and remember, God is on your team.
    Love, kathi

  4. Cousin Linda,
As I read in Matthew 14:36 "and they began to come to Him, (Jesus), that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were cured."
I had to ask, can Linda touch the fringe of His cloak, and be healed? The Holy Spirit gave me an instant answer..."Nothing is impossible with God" Luke 1:37
So Linda, Spiritually look for "the fringe of His cloak" and reach out!
