Nonnie was wearing her brown turbine hat and she looked adorable. Lisa and I talked with her for a while, and all along we were dying to see her new haircut. Our curiosity got the best of us and we finally asked her to take off her hat. The nurses were right. She looks beautiful! Move over Sinead O'Connor and Brittany Spears.....as Lisa said, "she rocks it".
Dr. De-Vos came by while we were there and explained that her sores were a simple virus. He assured us that the antibiotic will clear them up. Whew! He also told us that her blood levels are almost "rock bottom" and that next week her body should start regenerating on its own. Once she gets to an acceptable level, she will finally be able to go home. Nonnie was feeling the best she has in a long time today and appears to be responding well to the treatment.
Linda,
ReplyDeleteYou do look beautiful, as always. I am glad you had a surprise visit today from Lisa and Jeff! I am sure that made your day. Enjoy your time with your family this weekend. :)
XOXOXOXO

Dave and Linda:
ReplyDeleteHome now from watching Dusty and Sydnee tonight. Dustin had several hours of ball practice so Cheech and I went to In-n'-Out and ate while taking a drive along the coast. Dustin came home, we all had some chuckles, then time for bed.
Linda....I can't begin to tell you how ADORABLE you look! Jeff showed me a picture of Robert. What a handsome guy! The rest of you have to wait to see him and good words about him on a future post!
Imagine I'm giving both of you big hugs and kisses. Oh. I heard your voice message on the answer machine tonite. You sound so strong and sweet as always. GOD IS SO GOOD! Have a wonderful visit with Carol and Tony.
Love, Kathi xoxoxo
Can't resist sharing this wonderful story...
ReplyDelete"THE SNEEZE"
They walked in tandem, each of the ninety two students filing into the already crowded auditorium. With their rich maroon gowns flowing... and the traditional caps, they looked almost as grown up as they felt.
Dads swallowed hard behind broad smiles, and Moms freely brushed away tears.
This class would NOT pray during the commencements----not by choice, but because of a recent court ruling prohibiting it.
The principal and several students were careful to stay within the guidelines allowed by the ruling. They gave inspirational and challenging speeches, but no one mentioned divine guidance and no one asked for blessings on the graduates or their families.
The speeches were nice, but they were routine.....until the final speech received a standing ovation.
A solitary student walked proudly to the microphone. He stood still and silent for just moment, and then, it happened. All 92 students, every single one of them, suddenly SNEEZED!!!!
The student on stage.. simply looked at the audience and said, 'GOD BLESS YOU, each and every one of you!' And he walked off stage...
The audience exploded into applause. This graduating class had found a unique way to invoke God's blessing on their future with or without the courts approval.
This is a true story; it happened at the University of Maryland.
Hi Linda--just checking the blog--please know we're thinking about you and praying for you--and your family every day. Glad to hear of your answered prayers, too. God's Word is so true--I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. He's answering our prayers (yours--and all your family and friends). We continue to pray a complete recovery. God bless and strengthen you as you continue on "fighting this battle". Your hat is too cute!! Love, Brenda & Jim
